My inspiration for this animation came from apocalyptic worlds and neon cities. The focus was to create an animated landscape, so I kept the composition very desolate, only adding a few critters.

Subterranean was my first experience working with After Effects. I created all of my assets on different layers in Procreate before I began animating. I really focused on creating texture for this animation, taking advantage of clipping masks and textured brushes.
